Poem: Noise Sensitivity

Loud noises all around me,

I cannot escape their grasp.

An overwhelming flood in my ears,

My hands cannot drown the sound.

Loss of concentration.

Loss of peace.

I hear too many things.

Voices, music, horns, and bells,

they are just too much for me.

Please turn it down.

I’m sorry I asked.

See, I have this thing.

Everything is a little louder for me.

It’s called noise sensitivity.
