Autumn Tag 2018

The always charming Fox of The Patchwork Fox, tagged me to participate in celebrating the joys of autumn. I follow Fox on twitter and their new blog is such a delight! I would highly recommend taking a peek.

1) What signifies the start of Autumn to you?

The crisp air, the crunch of falling leaves, and the disappearance of summer bugs (even though they’re staying longer).

2) Best way to spend a rainy day?

Taking a nap, watching a movie, or reading a good book. Throw in some ice cream and I will be extra happy.

3) Your most favourite Autumn memory?

I do recall making a pumpkin man with my dad and brother. We filled our dad’s old clothes with leaves we were supposed to be raking and sat him in a chair. He stayed in front of our house for like a year. Had to get rid of the pumpkin after awhile, so it was weird headless body.

4) Favourite fall scent?

The leaves have a scent don’t they? Also the smell of burning leaves always gets me. I do like the smell of those scented pine cones even though I never buy them.

5) What are you most excited about this Autumn?

Adding new scarves to my collection and seasonal comfort food.

6) Favourite Autumn song?

Is that a thing? I like the same music all year long. However, now that I think about it, the cast album/ soundtrack to Rent is a good autumn listen.

7) Favourite Autumn film?

Also, not convinced that’s a thing. We did recently re-watch Scott Pilgrim Versus the World for the trillionth time.

8) What TV shows are you looking forward to this fall?

I suppose This Is Us, I don’t really keep up with shows that well.

9) Favourite Autumn colour?

I agree with Fox, mustard yellow is one of my favorite fall colors. I also love burnt orange, olive green, and burgundy.

10) Favourite fall fashion trend?

Hoodies and leggings

11) Your most loved outdoor Autumn activity?

Disappointing trick-or-treaters, sorry kids.

I tag: Audrey Walker, Johnzelle, Laura Spoonie, Sophia Ismaa, Laketra BFF, Amy Westphal, Chris Hall, Em, and Anna MV!

Have fun, jump in a pile of leaves. Watch out for ticks, they’re still around!

  1. I get what you’re saying about scarves 🧣. I had never worn one til this week (new profile picture) and like the way it pairs with my new coat. I’m a minimalist so I won’t be collecting scarves but yeah, it’s like a neck hug. I love fall because I get to have layers of clothing . It’s my favorite season. Hoodies, colors, holidays, so much! My wife and I just started this is us. I resonate with Randall’s character a lot and I love Kate. Kevin is currently on my 💩 list but perhaps that will change. I’m like 8 into season 1. In conclusion to this rant, 👋🏽

    • Fall is pretty great! How have you gone this long without wearing a scarf? Not even for fashion purposes but for the sheer sake of protecting your neck? Okay, I am done being a grandma.

I love Randall, from his corniness to how he displays anxiety, he’s probably my main reason for watching the show. I also love Beth, his wife.

      • I’m pretty plain Jane. In the past, I had a traditional winter coat paired with hoodies. My last one bit the dust and I got a new (to me) coat this summer. While a pea coat works with a hoodie, it’s not too fashionable (not that I care too much) so I got the scarf. This is after the receptionist caught on to the fact that my winter /fall wardrobe consists of 5 of the same sweatshirts in a variety of solid colors… (how dare she verbalize my routine/predictable/sensible ways!) I find what works and I stick to it haha. So a pea coat and scarf has be looking like I stepped off a runway. So I’ll not make any more fashion moves for a good 10 years or so.

And yes! I love Beth to! She says what Everyone else is thinking. Gotta love a show where all of the characters are loveable. That is, except Kevin…

  2. Hey, thanks for the tag! I love scarves by the way – scarves for all seasons.
Can I take a rain check on the autumn thing? It’s spring/summer here in the southern hemisphere 35 degrees C yesterday!

  3. The crunch of leaves in falls… so therapeutic. ❤️
Paha, the pumpkin man story reminds me of Ross using a pumpkin boy as a fake alternative as his son. Otherwise, it’s actually quite scary having a headless body right in front of your house. 😔

And thank you for the tag. ❤️
